Lift sling rigging company produce Endless Grommet Wire Rope Sling,Endless wire rope sling,Grommet Wire Rope sling,Endless Swaged Grommet Sling,Braided wire rope sling as endless grommet.
Lifet endless wire rope sling — galvanised 6×36 steel wire rope with a swaged aluminium ferrule and steel safety tag.
A Lifet endless wire rope sling — also called a grommet sling, endless sling, grommet wire rope sling or endless loop sling — is a continuous loop of steel wire rope with no end fittings at all. Because the loop is closed all the way round, the load is shared by both rope legs and the sling can be used in a straight, basket, choker or grommet hitch without turning the sling end for end. We manufacture endless slings from 8 mm to 60 mm galvanised wire rope, either with a swaged aluminium ferrule or with a hand-spliced Flemish eye, and supply every sling with its own steel tag and test certificate.
What Is an Endless Wire Rope Sling?
An endless wire rope sling is a wire rope joined back into itself so that it forms one continuous loop. The joint is made either with a swaged aluminium ferrule (mechanically pressed, the strongest and most common production method) or with a Flemish eye and hand splice for traditional and marine work. In service the two legs of the loop share the load, which makes an endless sling flexible, easy to choke around a load and quick to re-position.
The sling is measured by its circumference (the length of the closed loop) — not by the length of the rope used. A 4 m endless sling laid out flat measures approximately 2 m from eye to eye. Tell us the circumference you need and we make the loop to that size.
How an Endless Grommet Sling Is Made
- Rope selection — galvanised, bright or stainless steel wire rope in 6×19, 6×36WS or 6×37 construction, fibre core or IWRC, 1770 / 1960 MPa.
- Cutting and forming the loop — the rope is measured to the required circumference and the two ends are laid together to form a long, tapered overlap.
- Fixing the joint — the overlap is closed with a swaged aluminium ferrule (or hand-spliced and served for the traditional version).
- Proof loading and marking — the finished sling is proof-loaded, then fitted with a steel tag showing the WLL, rope diameter, circumference, standard and batch number.

Detail — the swaged ferrule joint that closes the loop (also available as a hand-spliced Flemish eye).
Key Features and Benefits
- No end fittings — nothing to hook into: the loop itself is the attachment, so there are no shackles, thimbles or hooks to lose or inspect.
- Load shared by two legs — in a straight pull the load is carried by both parts of the loop, giving a high capacity from a small diameter rope.
- Any hitch, either way round — straight, basket, choker or grommet hitch, and the sling can be rotated to spread wear along the whole loop.
- Compact and flexible — rolls up small for transport and storage; ideal on site, on deck and in confined spaces.
- Galvanised or stainless — hot-dip galvanised wire for general lifting, AISI 304 / 316 for offshore, food and chemical plants, PVC coated on request.
- Traceable — each sling is proof-loaded and supplied with a steel tag and a test certificate; batch records are kept for repeat orders.
Typical Applications
- Lifting and turning steel pipe, tubes, shafts, rolls and drums (basket and choker hitches)
- General engineering and fabrication lifting where no fixed attachment point exists
- Marine, offshore and dredging work — anchor handling, towing and deck lifting
- Recovery and vehicle slinging, tree work and rigging in tight spaces
- Permanent lifting loops on equipment, covers and frames

Sizing — an endless sling is ordered by circumference: a 4 m sling measures about 2 m between the two sides when laid flat.
How to Order an Endless Wire Rope Sling
- Circumference (the closed loop length) — or the eye-to-eye length; we will convert.
- Rope diameter and construction — e.g. 16 mm 6×36WS IWRC 1770 galvanised.
- Working load required — we will confirm the smallest diameter that meets it at the required safety factor and hitch type.
- Joint and finish — swaged ferrule or hand splice; galvanised, bright, stainless or PVC coated.
- Marking and packing — your tag layout, logo, private label bag or carton.
Inspection, Care and Safe Use
- Inspect before every lift: broken wires, kinks, corrosion, crushed or stretched sections and a slipped or cracked ferrule are all reasons to withdraw the sling.
- Keep the sling in line with the load; sharp edges need protection sleeves.
- Never exceed the marked WLL, and remember the WLL falls in a choker hitch.
- Rotate the sling in service so wear is spread around the loop, and store on a dry rack.
- Have slings examined by a competent person at least every 6 months, or as required by your local lifting regulations.
Why Buy Endless Wire Rope Slings from Lift
Lift Sling Rigging Co., Ltd has produced wire rope and webbing rigging in Taizhou, Jiangsu for nearly thirty years. Rope is drawn and galvanised to our specification, endless loops are formed and swaged on our own presses, and every batch is proof-loaded before despatch. Custom circumferences, stainless steel and PVC coating are all made to order, and your own brand tag can be printed or stamped into the ferrule area.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an endless sling and a normal wire rope sling?
A normal sling has a thimble eye or hook at each end. An endless (grommet) sling is a closed loop of rope with no end fittings at all, so both legs share the load and the sling can be used in any hitch without turning it around.
How do I specify the length of an endless wire rope sling?
By circumference — the length of the closed loop. A 4 m circumference sling measures roughly 2 m between the two sides when laid out flat. If you prefer, give us the eye-to-eye length and we will convert it for you.
Is a swaged ferrule or a hand splice stronger?
The swaged aluminium ferrule is the production standard for lifting slings and gives a predictable, testable joint. Hand-spliced Flemish eyes are also available for traditional or marine requirements; both are proof-loaded before despatch.
What safety factor do you use?
Standard endless slings are rated at a 5:1 safety factor on the breaking load; the exact factor marked on the tag is stated on your test certificate. Tell us the regulation you work to and we will match it.
Can you supply stainless steel or PVC coated endless slings?
Yes — AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel rope for offshore, food and chemical applications, and PVC or rubber coated rope where the load surface must not be marked.
Do you make custom sizes and apply our own brand?
Yes. Any circumference from 0.5 m to 20 m, any standard rope diameter, your own tag layout and private label packing are all produced to order at our factory.
