Lift Kevlar (aramid) braided rope net — high strength, low stretch mesh with a reinforced border rope, made to your mesh and size.
A Lift Kevlar braided aramid rope net — also searched as aramid rope net, Kevlar net, braided aramid safety net or high temperature rope net — is a mesh panel woven from braided aramid (Kevlar®-type) rope. Aramid gives roughly five times the strength of steel wire of the same weight with very low stretch, and it does not melt: it carbonises at high temperature, which is why aramid nets are chosen for fire rescue, heat-exposed plant, marine and industrial safety work where nylon, polyester or polypropylene nets would soften, stretch or burn. We braid the rope, knot or splice the mesh and finish the border in our own factory, in any size you need.
What Is a Kevlar Braided Aramid Rope Net?
It is a rope net made from braided aramid rope instead of the usual nylon or polypropylene. “Braided” means the rope itself is an 8- or 12-strand braided construction: the strands are interwoven rather than twisted, so the rope stays round under load, resists abrasion and — unlike a twisted rope — cannot unlay if a strand is cut. The mesh is then formed by knotting or by splicing the rope into a knotless grid, and the whole panel is edged with a heavier aramid border rope that carries the attachment points.
Aramid (the fibre family that includes Kevlar and Twaron) is used where three properties matter together: very high strength for its weight, low stretch (about 3–4 % at break, against 15–20 % for nylon) and heat stability.
Construction — Braided Aramid Rope and Mesh
- Braided aramid rope — 8- or 12-strand braid in 4–16 mm, natural yellow or black, uncoated or PU / PVC coated for abrasion and UV protection.
- Mesh forming — knotted mesh (traditional, repairable) or knotless braided mesh (stronger, flatter, no knots to chafe).
- Border rope — a heavier aramid border rope is spliced around the perimeter to carry the load and hold the mesh shape.
- Edge fittings — corner eyes, stainless thimbles, eyelets or D-rings can be fitted to suit the fixing points.
- Inspection and packing — each net is checked for mesh size, dimensions and splices, then tagged with the size, rope diameter and batch number.

How an aramid rope net is specified — rope Ø, mesh opening, net length × width and border rope.
Key Features and Benefits
- Extremely high strength-to-weight ratio — about 5 × steel and 2–3 × polyester for the same rope diameter, so the net stays light enough to handle by hand.
- Low stretch — roughly 3–4 % elongation at break, keeping the mesh geometry and the fixing points stable under load.
- High temperature resistance — aramid does not melt; it carbonises from about 400 °C, so the net keeps its structure far beyond the limits of nylon or PP.
- Cut and abrasion resistant — braided construction resists edge cutting far better than twisted rope, and a coated version adds a further wear layer.
- Repairable and customisable — knotted mesh can be re-knotted on site; any size, mesh and edge fitting can be made to order.
- Chemically stable — resistant to most oils, fuels and solvents; aramid is sensitive to UV and to strong acids, so use a coated net for permanent outdoor exposure.
Typical Applications
- Fire rescue and escape nets, and heat-exposed safety netting in foundries and steel plants
- Helicopter deck, offshore and dock safety netting where weight and stretch are critical
- Machinery guards, blast and debris protection, and personnel fall-protection netting
- Marine and fishing gear, cargo restraint and load-carrying net slings
- Ballistic, cut-resistant and high-temperature industrial barriers
- Custom netting for sports, animal enclosures and architectural safety screens
Kevlar Braided Aramid Rope Net Specifications
Standard specification of Lifet Kevlar (aramid) braided rope nets
Rope diameter, mesh and breaking strength
Example values for 12-strand braided aramid rope. Breaking strength is the rope figure — the strength of a finished net also depends on the knot or splice, the mesh size, the border rope and the fixing points. Confirm the figures on your own test certificate before publishing, and never use a net outside its rated application.
How to Order a Kevlar Aramid Rope Net
- Rope diameter — from the load and the required strength.
- Mesh opening — from what must be caught or kept out (a person, debris, cargo) and the weight you can accept.
- Net length × width — total panel size, plus any overlap for fixing.
- Knotted or knotless — knotless for maximum strength and a flat surface, knotted where on-site repair matters.
- Coating and colour — coat it for outdoor or abrasive service.
- Edge fittings — corner eyes, thimbles or eyelets, and their spacing.

Inspection, Care and Safe Use
- Inspect before use: cut or frayed strands, chafed or glazed rope, damaged splices and grazing where the net touches structure.
- Keep the net away from sharp edges unless protected — aramid is cut resistant but not cut proof.
- Protect from continuous UV: use a coated net outdoors and store under cover when not in use; sun degradation shows as a bleached, fuzzy surface.
- Never exceed the rated load or the intended application of the net, and have it examined by a competent person at the interval required by your local regulations.
- Clean with fresh water and mild detergent; do not use strong acids or bleach, which attack aramid.
Why Buy Aramid Rope Nets from Lifet
Lift Sling Rigging Co., Ltd has produced rope, net and rigging products in Taizhou, Jiangsu for nearly thirty years. We braid our own aramid rope, form the mesh and splice the border in house, so mesh size, rope diameter, coating and finish are all under our control, and custom or repeat orders are matched to the original specification. Third-party testing and pre-shipment inspection can be arranged on request.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Kevlar braided aramid rope net used for?
Mainly where strength, low stretch and heat resistance are needed together: fire rescue and escape nets, heat-exposed plant and foundry safety netting, offshore and helicopter deck nets, cargo restraint, machinery guards and cut-resistant barriers.
Is Kevlar the same as aramid?
Kevlar is DuPont’s brand of aramid fibre — the fibre family also includes Twaron®. Our nets are made from braided aramid rope of equivalent performance; tell us if you need the net made from a named brand fibre.

Should I choose knotted or knotless mesh?
Knotless braided mesh is stronger, flatter and has no knots to chafe or catch, so it is the better choice for most load-bearing and safety nets. Knotted mesh is easier to repair on site and is often preferred for traditional fishing and decorative netting.
How strong is a braided aramid net?
Aramid rope is roughly five times stronger than steel wire of the same weight, with about 3–4 % elongation at break. The strength of a finished net depends on the rope diameter, the mesh size, the knot or splice, the border rope and the fixings — send us the load you need carried and we will size the net for you.
Does UV light damage an aramid rope net?
Yes — aramid is more UV-sensitive than polyester or polypropylene. For permanent outdoor use we recommend a PU or PVC coated net, and storage under cover when it is not in service.
Can you make custom sizes and fit eyelets?
Yes. Any net length × width from 1 × 1 m to 10 × 10 m, any mesh from 50 to 200 mm, coated or uncoated, with corner eyes, stainless thimbles or eyelets at the spacing you specify, and your own tag or private label packing.
