Lift sling rigging company produce Endless Polyester Flat Webbing Sling.
Endless Polyester Flat Webbing Sling
endless polyester flat webbing sling is a continuous loop of flat woven polyester webbing with no ends, no eyes and no metal fittings. Because the band is joined to itself, there is nothing to thread and nothing that can scratch: the whole circumference is a soft, load-bearing face. That single property is why the endless loop is the sling most often bought for pipe, tube, sheet, timber and any surface that must not be marked.
Lift Sling Rigging Company has woven flat webbing slings in Taizhou, Jiangsu since 1985. Every endless polyester flat webbing sling we supply is made from 100% high-tenacity polyester yarn, colour coded to the international working load limit convention, fitted with a stitched working load limit label, and proof tested in our own laboratory before it leaves the mill.

What Makes an Endless Webbing Sling Different
An endless sling is not a sling with its ends hidden; it is a different article, and three practical consequences follow.
- Nothing touches the load but soft fibre. There is no eye, no hook, no shackle and no thimble on the article, so coated tube, polished sheet, anodised aluminium and copper are carried without a witness mark.
- The arrangement is decided at the load. The same loop works vertically, in a basket hitch and in a choke hitch. What it carries changes with the arrangement, so the hitch has to be stated on the order.
- The marking is the whole record.A closed loop has no end to measure from and no end from which an inspection can begin, so the figures on the label are what the sling is.
Key Features of Our Endless Polyester Flat Webbing Slings
- 100% high-tenacity polyester (PES) webbing— low stretch and stable under a steady load, with elongation of about 3% at the working load limit.
- Closed loop, no end fittings— no metal anywhere on the article to bruise a finished surface.
- 7:1 safety factor as standard— 5:1 and 6:1 constructions are also produced for one-trip and light-duty programmes.
- Colour coded to the international convention— from 1 t violet through to 10 t orange, so capacity can be read across a yard at a glance.
- Stitched working load limit label— capacity, length and batch number on every sling, so the label, not the colour, is the authority.
- Wide bands spread the pressure— 30 mm to 250 mm standard widths, matched to the working load limit and the load’s surface.
- Resistant to rot, mildew and most chemicals— polyester is indifferent to the conditions that end a natural-fibre sling.
- Light, soft and non-conductive— a fraction of the weight of a wire rope of the same figure, and no spark risk.
- Made to order— width, thickness, length, colour, printed branding and label text are all built to the enquiry.

Working Load Limit Colour Code
Endless flat webbing slings are colour coded by working load limit under the convention most of the market uses. It is genuinely useful on site — a rigger can spot a two-tonne band in a pile from across the yard — but it cannot replace the label, because the figure that applies is the one printed and stitched to that individual sling.

Figure 3 — The standard colour code: treat the colour as the fast check and the stitched label as the answer.
Mode Factors — What the Loop Carries in Each Hitch
A webbing sling does not have one capacity. The figures below are the standard mode factors used across the market for flat webbing slings: each is multiplied by the sling’s own marked working load limit to give the capacity in that arrangement. The label on the article always overrides the table.
| Arrangement | Mode factor | What it means on the floor |
| Vertical | 1.0 | One loop, straight up. The band hangs and carries. |
| Choked | 0.8 | The loop goes round the load and back through itself. The wrap grips and the band is loaded against itself. |
| Basket, 0-45° | 2.0 | Band under the load, both legs to the hook, legs near vertical. |
| Basket, 45-60° | 1.4 | Basket with the legs spread; the spread costs capacity. |
| Two legs, 0-45° | 1.4 | Two bands to one hook, legs near vertical, load shared. |
| Two legs, 45-60° | 1.0 | The same pair with the legs spread – the same loss of capacity. |
| Three and four legs, 0-45° | 2.1 | Three or four legs; not three or four times the figure, because the load rarely shares evenly. |
| Three and four legs, 45-60° | 1.5 | The same arrangement spread. Re-check rather than assume. |

Applications of the Endless Polyester Flat Webbing Sling
A closed soft loop is bought from the load outwards. The tonnage decides the band, but the load decides everything else — its section, its girth, its finish, and whether the loop will be used vertically, doubled around the article or passed through itself.
Steel pipe and tube
A round section is wrapped rather than hooked: the load enters the loop by passing it round the pipe, so there is no eye to line up against a machined end and no fitting to bruise a coating. The wide band spreads the pressure and leaves the pipe unmarked.

Figure 4 — Basket hitch on a steel pipe bundle: the wide band spreads the load across the pipe wall.
Galvanised and coated steel sheet
The softest loads are the ones where a mark is a rejection. Synthetic fibre is chosen over wire rope precisely because the band is softer than the surface it carries, and no hardware touches the pack.

Figure 5 — Galvanised sheet pack handled without a scratch: the reason this loop exists.
Timber and timber packs
Sharp arrises cut a narrow band, so a wide loop spreads the pressure and carries the pack without printing a line into dressed stock.

Figure 6 — Round timber lifted on a two-leg endless sling: no chain, no rope, no bark damage.
Heavy pipe bundles and general steel handling
Higher working load limits use a wider band in the colour that matches the figure, so the capacity on the hook can be identified without reading a label at height.

Figure 7 — A 5 t red endless sling on a heavy pipe bundle: colour and label both state the figure.
Other loads this range is regularly bought for: rubber products and hose, aluminium sections and sheet, copper tube and fittings, concrete products, boats and marine hardware, and general fabrication work where a wire rope would mark the job.
Edge Protection — Part of the Specification, Not an Accessory
A band cut by an edge starts as a small notch and ends as a failure. Where the load has a sharp corner, a machined lip, a burr, a weld spatter or a rough casting skin, either the band is sleeved and the sleeve is part of the article, or the corner is protected with a pad that travels with the sling. Ask for it at the enquiry stage: a sleeve cannot be retro-fitted to a band already woven.

Figure 8 — A protective sleeve is a specification line: specify it before the band is woven.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an endless polyester flat webbing sling?
It is a continuous loop of flat woven polyester webbing with no ends, no eyes and no metal fittings. The band is joined to itself, so the whole circumference is a soft bearing surface that can be used in vertical, basket and choke hitches without any hardware touching the load.
What is the safety factor?
7:1 is standard for our reusable endless polyester flat webbing slings. 5:1 and 6:1 versions are also produced for one-trip and light-duty programmes, and every batch is proof tested and documented in our own laboratory.
How do I measure the length of an endless sling?
A closed loop is quoted under two conventions — the circumference of the loop, and the laid-flat length, which is about half the circumference. State which convention you mean, or simply give the girth of the article the loop has to go round.
What does the sling colour mean?
The colour identifies the working load limit by convention: 1 t violet, 2 t green, 3 t yellow, 4 t grey, 5 t red, 6 t brown, 8 t blue, 10 t orange. It is a fast check only — the stitched label is the authority, and where the colour and the label disagree, the label wins.
Will it mark pipe or galvanised sheet?
No. The wide flat band spreads the pressure over a large area and no metal fitting touches the load. Use an edge sleeve where the load has a sharp edge or burr.
Can it be used in a choker?
Yes, and the arrangement has to be stated, because the choked figure is lower than the vertical figure. Vertical, basket and choker are three different duties on the same article.
Do you offer OEM branding?
Yes. We weave our own webbing, so width, colour, printed branding, label text and packed length are all made to order, including own-brand labels and export packing for distributors.
