Single Use Endless Webbing Sling

A single use endless webbing sling is a one-trip lifting sling: a continuous loop of flat woven webbing, made to be used for one journey and then taken out of service. It is the sling that travels with the cargo — it lifts the load at the factory, goes with it through every intermediate drop, and is cut up or discarded once the goods have been unloaded at their final destination. Lift Sling Rigging Company (Lift) has manufactured single use and endless webbing slings in Taizhou, Jiangsu since 1985, with a 5:1 safety factor, woven from high tenacity polyester yarn, and supplied in endless, eye-to-eye, single ply and double ply versions.

What “single use” means

Standard lifting slings are built for years of service: a 7:1 safety factor, thick webbing, per-unit testing and a high price tag. That is wasted money when the sling is going to leave the country strapped to a machine and never come back. A single use sling is engineered for exactly one trip:

  • 5:1 safety factor instead of 6:1 or 7:1 — enough reserve for the loads the sling will actually see on a single journey, without paying for a decade of service life.
  • Disposable construction — our disposable web slings are manufactured to the British Standard BS 3481-3, made from high tenacity polyester yarn, and are intended to be destroyed after the goods are unloaded.
  • Lower cost per lift — no return freight, no inspection regime, no re-certification, and no lost slings accumulating in a warehouse on the other side of the world.
  • Still a real lifting sling — the webbing, the stitching and the rated capacity are all controlled in our own mill, so the sling lifts safely on the way out, which is the only trip that matters.
One trip, by design. A single use sling must not be returned to the lifting store and reused. It carries a working load limit label so that everyone on site knows what it can lift, and it should be cut or otherwise rendered unusable once the cargo has been delivered.

How it is built

Endless loop, single ply webbing

The sling is a closed loop of flat webbing — no sewn eye, no end fitting, no hardware. Because the loop has no fixed wear points, the whole circumference can be used as the bearing surface, and the sling can be used in vertical, choke and basket hitches without a change of capacity.

Webbing and material

Single use slings are woven from high tenacity polyester yarn as standard, with polypropylene webbing for the lightest one-trip duties and for cargo that travels by sea. We weave the webbing ourselves, which is how we can offer the same sling in several widths and colours at one-trip prices, and print your own brand on the webbing on OEM orders.

Standards

Single use slings are manufactured to BS 3481-3 (disposable web slings), and our endless webbing slings are produced to ISO 4878, EN 1492-1 and JB/T 8521. Every sling is colour coded following the international colour code so that capacity can be identified at a glance, and each sling carries a blue label with the working load limit, length and batch number.

Technical parameters

The table below is our standard single use endless webbing sling range at a 5:1 safety factor. Webbing width is matched to the working load limit; the minimum and maximum lengths are the shortest and longest loops we make as one continuous sling.

Widths, lengths, colours and printed branding are made to order. Tell us the working load limit, the loop length and how many pieces travel with each shipment, and we will confirm the width, the packing and the delivery time — this is a product we build in large batches to tight one-trip prices.

Where single use endless slings are used

  • One-way cargo shipping — the sling lifts the goods at the plant, travels with the container or flat rack, and is destroyed when the goods are unloaded at the far end.
  • Loading and unloading at intermediate drops — the same sling is used repeatedly along the route until the consignment reaches its final destination.
  • Export packing of machinery, steel and fabricated parts where the sling becomes part of the packing rather than a returnable tool.
  • Project and shutdown work where no lifting tackle is available at the site and slings must be taken in with the material.
  • Choke hitch work on pipes, poles and bundles, and basket hitch work where a soft, non-marking bearing surface is needed.
  • OEM and distributor supply — own-brand one-trip slings in customer colours and widths, packed in cartons for onward sale.

Single use slings are also supplied as flat slings with eyes, in the same 5:1 construction and colour code.

Marking and packing

  • Blue working load limit label on every sling, stating capacity, length and batch number.
  • Colour coded webbing (268C, 363C, 116C, 8C, 1787C, 7522C, 3005C) so capacity can be read at a glance.
  • Printed webbing with your own brand, size or instruction text on OEM orders.
  • Carton packing with an inner plastic bag for sea freight, and palletised or container-loaded as agreed — tell us the shipping method and we will pack for it.

Using a single use sling safely

  • Check the working load limit on the label before the first lift — and remember that a 5:1 sling is not interchangeable with a 7:1 sling of the same width.
  • Use it for the trip it was bought for; once the load has been delivered, take it out of service and destroy it.
  • Keep the sling away from sharp edges, heat and welding spatter, and protect it with an edge sleeve where the load has a cut edge.
  • Do not knot or shorten the sling, and do not use a damaged sling for a heavy lift — the webbing must be sound for the load it carries.
  • Store slings clean and dry before use, and never leave them in the sun or in contact with chemicals for long periods.

Why buy single use slings from Lift

  • 40 years of sling manufacturing — founded in 1985 in Taizhou, Jiangsu, more than 200 employees, and one of China’s largest lifting sling production bases.
  • We weave our own webbing — width, colour and safety factor are under our control, which is what makes a genuine low-cost one-trip sling possible.
  • Own testing laboratory and 1000 t test machine — every batch is checked and documented, and our facilities hold CNAS, CE and DNV certification.
  • One supplier for the whole range — webbing slings, endless flat webbing slings, single ply endless flat slings, single use lifting slings with endless loop, round slings and ratchet straps.
  • OEM and ODM — own-brand labels, printed webbing, special colours and export packing for distributors and end users.

Frequently asked questions

What is a single use endless webbing sling?
It is a continuous loop of flat woven webbing with a 5:1 safety factor, made for one journey: it lifts the load at the start of the journey and is destroyed once the goods have been unloaded at their final destination. It never goes back into the lifting store.
Why is the safety factor only 5:1?
A single use sling is designed for the loads of one journey rather than years of service, so a 5:1 factor gives the necessary reserve without the extra webbing weight and cost of a reusable 7:1 sling. The sling is still tested and documented by batch.
What sizes can you supply?
Working load limits from 1 t to 12 t in the standard endless range, and 25 mm, 35 mm and 50 mm widths rated 250 kg, 500 kg and 1 500 kg in the popular polypropylene one-trip sizes. Widths and lengths are made to order.
Can the sling be supplied as an eye-to-eye sling instead of endless?
Yes. Single use slings are made as endless loops, eye-to-eye slings, single ply and double ply versions, in both polyester and polypropylene webbing.
Is it marked with the capacity?
Yes. Every sling carries a blue label with the working load limit, length and batch number, and the webbing is colour coded to the international colour code. Printed branding is available on OEM orders.
How are single use slings packed for export?
They are supplied with an inner plastic bag and an outer carton as standard, then palletised or container loaded as agreed. Tell us the shipping method and we will pack them so they arrive ready for use.
